Sandworms

In the past 3 months, I have been on a roller coaster of emotions. Most of them have been great feelings. As of late, they have been not so great. I guess I should just start by saying that I, Bryan Dawson, am built to be in a relationship. I don’t know why that is or what made me that way but I would consider it a flaw. I don’t know how to just do my own thing without feeling the need to be making someone happy. I guess you could say that I invest way too much of myself into other people who aren’t so sure. I have a lot faith in relationship’s, just because my parents got married under less than ideal circumstances and are still happily married. I just get so caught up in the other person that I forget to focus on myself and the thing’s I need to be taking care of. So I suppose that now I am going to force myself to steer clear of any relationship’s for a whileeeee…eeeee. But when the time come’s and it feel’s right, someone is going to have all the love I have to give and they are going accept it instead of pushing it away. They are going to love the fact that I know random facts about the most rediculous stuff, like how sea turtles absorb the water from the ocean and excrete the salt from their eyes, explaining why they always look like they are crying. They will love how smothering I can be hah. They will appreciate a good guitar solo over a pretty vocal melody and will go to def leppard concerts with me. They will not care what other people think about us… Hmmm seems like I am asking a lot, but why settle? With that said, I am going to harden my heart up and move on.

Ok enough of the emo BS. We have been writing music like CRAZY. We have been churning up some good good stuff, so needless to say we are all very excited to record this next album. I also got my passport in the mail yesterday! Which means that was last thing I needed for the Cancun trip! We are going to go get out of the element and sit on the beach with acoustics straight hippie style and hopefully make some sweet tunes.

I also have been a little homesick lately. I still feel like I am on tour, so if I seem a little down, that is most likely why. I just want a good southern home cooked meal from my grandma hah.

So I havn’t been able to update this as much as I wanted too but I have a little time/internet on my hands. So far this is been one of the best experiences of my life. I love being in a different city every night and getting to meet new and interesting people all the time.  I have learned that I hate traveling in a van more than anything, at first it wasn’t so bad, but 8 guy’s in a van isn’t exactly the most appealing thing haha. I have also learned that I talk in my sleep which I never really knew about myself. Also I have yet to have a fan who was concerned about a new guitarist come to me and say that they were disappointed, so if you have not seen us yet with me, I hope that gives you a little hope :) … and if not, maybe this will help.

Ok, I guess I’ll star with the most asked questions. So I was born in Wilson, NC on October 13th. I am 21 yrs old and I am 6 feet tall. I think my biggest influence was my dad, he was a musician so naturally I wanted to do the same, he was a drummer though. So far, almost everyone has been nice to me, though but there are some people that hate me even though a month ago they didn’t even know I existed, so I do not really get that, but it’s ok, I am thickly skinned. Well I had some mutual friends in mercy mercedes (which are from wilson too) on tour with them, and heard about Ian so they told them about me and they saw a video of me playing and next thing you know, I am here. I hung out with Ian a while back and we talked for a while, nicest dude ever. The songs will have every solo and every part played, promise. I will be singing too. I mean, I didn’t make him leave the band, so I do not see why the fact that I am there makes me worthy of being hated. If anything, wait to see us before you decide to dis-like me. If I am horrible, have at it. I play a Fender Stratocaster. I will most definitely be hanging out after shows and yes hugs are welcome!

My favorite bands are mostly classic rock bands like Led zep, def lep, lynard skynard, stuff like that. Yes I am slightly overwhelmed by everyone because I really wasn’t expecting it, but I am learning the do’s and dont’s right now, it’s kind of like when you have a couple kid’s, if you show one special attention the other kid will want it to, and then if you don’t your automatically a jerk. So with that said I will do my best to answer back as much as possible. Also, as much as I would like to follow you all, let’s be honest, I do not know anyone that is following over 900 people, that’s a lot! So no offense if I do not follow you :)

If your nice enough to bring something to us, we all enjoy gift cards and subway! The main places I can’t wait to play on tour are California b/c I have only been once and pretty much all the big citites that I havn’t had the pleasure of visiting, but regardless, they are all going to be a good time. I can play piano,drums,electric/bass guitar. All the guys in the band are super nice and we are having a blast. My favorite song to play so far is 70’s song. I love gatorade and scary movies, my fav. is beetlejuice. UNC baby!! Favorite ice cream is vanilla, favorite sport is football. Yes I do realize my name is similar to rian dawsons hah.

Whew, ok I think I got most of them, there were  A LOT. If I missed yours I am sorry, don’t hate me because of it hahah.   ok time for food
